Frequently Asked Questions
So you've booked a session, now what? Read below to see some frequently asked questions I receive from clients. As always, if you have any other questions, please email me any time!

What can we expect?
You can expect to move, dance, laugh, be silly, run, play and to have fun. I love to catch you in the middle of a giggle spell, or to catch a sweet look between two people, or a funny face a little one makes. I'm less about posing you and more about capturing you in your natural state. You may feel uncomfortable when we start, but after a few minutes, you'll be comfortable in front of the camera and it will be a blast!
What should we wear?
Gone are the days where everyone wears the same outfit! Avoid having participants wear the same thing. Instead choose a color scheme and stick to it! If kids are wearing a red shirt, maybe mom can wear a gray shirt with red scarf. Pops of coordinating colors look better than everyone dressing the same. Avoid bold and loud logos and people wearing different types of patterns. Pinterest has many great ideas/color schemes that can help with inspiration! Have an idea? Send it to me and I can help!

Where will we take pictures?
I have several central Vermont locations that I frequent, but I am willing to travel to you. If you have a fun creative idea or a place that is special to you, let me know. If it's 10 miles outside of Barre there is an additional charge of 50 cents a mile to and from your location.
Should I bring anything?
If you have pets, a horse, a favorite pair of boots, a cool car, or something else you'd like to include, just let me know ahead of time! Have a creative idea that you want to incorporate into your shoot? I'm up for any ideas, just reach out and share what you're thinking! Also, if you don't like sitting on the ground feel free to bring a blanket that matches your style, I have a couple I bring, but sometimes families like to bring their own.

How do I prepare my small children?
Here are some Dos and Don'ts for the littles!
Dos: Dress them in comfy clothes and shoes. Talk about what you're going to be doing in the days leading up to it. Bring snacks (avoid messy!). Talk about how fun it will be together, practice being silly and smiling together. When we are together, LET THEM BE THEMSELVES- let them be silly, run, jump, play, laugh, be grumpy, take breaks. Let me direct them!

Don'ts: Don't stress about behavior. Don't punish or threaten. Don't keep saying "smile!" - it's best to capture them naturally. Don't say "Look at Jess" over and over. We'll get them all looking! Don't forget, this is about making memories and having fun, you don't need to stress. let me lead!
